FilmBox Channels and Gametoon Now Available in Ethiopia with CANAL+ GROUP

SPI/FilmBox and CANAL+ Group adds Gametoon to their offering in Ethiopia, following the launch of all three FilmBox movie channels – FilmBox Africa, FilmBox Action and FilmBox Family

SPI/FilmBox and CANAL+ Group bring SPI’s gaming and esports channel Gametoon to Ethiopia, available on channel 71 in the DESTA package. SPI had already launched the well-known FilmBox Africa and the new additions to the FilmBox group, FilmBox Action and FilmBox Family with the operator, earlier in the year.

Gametoon is created by true gaming and esports enthusiasts and features highlights of popular games, entertainment content from gaming youtubers, video game tournaments with million-dollar prize pools and much more.

FilmBox Africa and FilmBox Family are available in the Desta package on channel 54 and 55, respectively, while FilmBox Action is accessible in the Feshta package on channel 62 via “CANAL+ ETHIOPIA”, a dedicated offer distributed in Ethiopia. SPI’s MMA sports channel FightBox is also available in the Desta package.

SPI International Brings Two New FilmBox Channels to the Middle East with Etisalat

FilmBox Action and FilmBox Family are available to Etisalat subscribers as of October 1st marking the debut of the channels in the Middle East   

SPI/FilmBox and Emirates-based telecommunications company Etisalat have inked a strategic agreement to introduce the two new specialized FilmBox channels to subscribers in the Middle East. FilmBox Action and FilmBox Family will be available starting October 1st on channels 654 and 655, respectively.

“We are excited to expand on our agreement with our long-standing partner Etisalat with the launch of two sought-after FilmBox channels in the region,” commented Murat Muratoglu, Head of Distribution at SPI International. “Now, subscribers will be able to enjoy a large spectrum of content from SPI that covers popular Turkish series, esports content, family-oriented movies, and Hollywood’s best action features,” added Muratoglu.

FilmBox Action offers non-stop action entertainment with a slate of adrenaline-pumping thrillers, Westerns, horror, sci-fi, and disaster films starring masters of action cinema such as Bruce Willis, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal, Jet Li, Jackie Chan, and many others. FilmBox Family presents popular TV series, family movies, cartoons, and educational programming geared toward general audiences, providing entertainment for the whole family.

Other SPI channels that are currently available to Etisalat subscribers are the Turkish series hub Dizi channel in the basic package on channel 156 and Gametoon in the Sports package on channel 771.

SPI International Unveils Its First Metaverse Space

Global media company SPI International, now a part of the CANAL+ Group, is excited to announce the launch of its first space in the metaverse, Casa FilmBox. The virtual space within Spatial’s metaverse features an auditorium, meeting rooms, galleries and exhibition halls to showcase SPI’s rich portfolio of content, products and marketing campaigns. Casa FilmBox also features a performance center that the company aims to use for hosting special events such as movie screenings, shows, company get-togethers and other community activities.

SPI/FilmBox and Telekom Srbija Group Extend Distribution Deal

SPI/FilmBox and Telekom Srbija Group, the largest internet and cable television provider in Serbia, announce that they have extended their distribution deal, effective as of August 1st, 2022. The extension will allow mts TV, Supernova, and m:SAT TV subscribers in Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina to enjoy thirteen SPI channels and on-demand content for more years to come.
